I’m going to start a new feature here on Hit Coffee where each weekend (as defined by any point from noon Friday to noon Monday) I’m going to share a song or video of some sort (today, and often, a video of a song). Today’s song is “Alabama”, by Cross Canadian Ragweed. Cross Canadian Ragweed is an alternative country act that has risen to stardom lately. They might be worth your while if you’re not into country songs about tears in your beer, though this song actually sort of fits into that category (albeit with more of a pop sound). Note that the first video includes a commercial.

Here’s a video of some guy playing the same song:

Here’s another guy (in a cowboy hat, this time):

Have you ever checked out the Palladia network? They have some excellent concerts on there, many of them in high-def. I haven’t seen any Ragweed concerts on there, but I’ll have to keep an eye out for them.

Last night, I came home from the bar, turned it on and watched The Who, playing at the Isle of Wight music festival in 1970. It was something like 2 am, yet I had the sound going through my stereo and was rocking out.

Never heard of Palladia. I don’t really have cable in any meaningful sense (I get the local channels plus a local cable channel and CSPANish stuff), so unfortunately I can’t check it out.

Cross Canadian Ragweed has at least a couple of their shows recorded for DVD release, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if they turned up.
