I’ve been thinking about this lately, but perhaps the biggest way that Republicans can reach out to minorities has little or nothing to do with the party itself and more to do with its constituent networks. Evangelicals, for instance, and the NRA.

My favorite number is e. I usually select it when asked to pick a number from 1 to 10.

Also, I don’t get the significance of Aruba in the title.

It’s their fault for not specifying an integer, right?

I wonder if Dr. Phi always picks phi.

When I was young, I’d get into arguments about “infinity.” You know, “I hate you infinity!” “I hate you infinity + 1” “I hate you infinity times infinity!” “Ha! Infinity + 1 is more than infinity times infinity!”

Aruba ranks #186 in world population.

Yes they should have specified an integer. 🙂

As for Aruba, a lot of those lists vary, but I will take you at your word that you have access to at least ONE list that has Aruba as 186. Some would argue Aruba isn’t a country per se.

This may be an oversimplification, but I think the reason sleep deprivation causes weight gain is because there are more hours in the day in which to eat. More time sleeping equals less time eating.

I actually think it screws with the metabolism. The possibility of a connection first occurred to me when Clancy started putting on weight as a resident. She didn’t have time to stuff her face. The weight came off once she was actually getting a halfway-reasonable amount of sleep.

Some of that was a lack of time for food prep. But I believe there was something more fundamental going on. Like the body recognizes that it can’t reliably get rest, so starts storing food. Or a lack of time for the body to properly process it while sleeping. Something like that.
