Despite my geeky tendencies, I am only a recent convert to the potential of technology in education. My reluctance here is due in part of the silliness of its boosters.

    I’ve been reading articles about Japan’s population implosion for a while now. But what I keep missing are articles on the actual impact it has made on the Japanese standard of living.

      It is assumed that one of the reasons that Japan’s economy has had such a hard time rebounding are the workforce dynamics. The most obvious impact is going to be on government benefits and the taking care of the elderly. I’m not sure there’s any way around that.

      Whether there is any danger in it for the rest of us we will find out precisely because of nations like Japan. They will give us an idea of how bad, or not bad, it’s going to be.
